About GRO

Green River Ordinance, a dynamic force in the music world, is poised to make a grand return with their much-anticipated new album "For Old Time's Sake," releasing in April 2023. This album marks their first new music since the critically acclaimed "Fifteen" in 2016, which notably debuted at #1 on the Billboard Folk Charts and #6 on the Billboard Country Charts.

The band, initially signed with Capitol Records, has a storied history of success with two Top 40 singles on pop rock radio, five #1 singles on Texas Country Radio, and three albums in the Billboard Top 100. Their musical influence has extended into over 70 TV shows and films, bolstered by videos featured on VH1, MTV, and CMT. After 15 years of relentless touring and sharing stages with legendary acts like Bon Jovi, Chris Stapleton, Sting, Train, Goo Goo Dolls, Zac Brown Band, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Blake Shelton, The Roots, Needtobreathe, Gavin Degraw, and many more, Green River Ordinance took a well-deserved hiatus in 2016. This break allowed them to focus on family and pursue other ventures, rejuvenating their creative spirits. In 2022, the band marked a triumphant return to the stage with three back-to-back sold-out reunion concerts in their hometown of Dallas Fort Worth. These performances reignited their passion and reconnected them with their dedicated fan base.

Building on this momentum, Green River Ordinance is set to play an exclusive album release concert in April 2024 at Tannahill's Tavern in Fort Worth, promising to be a landmark event in their ongoing journey. At the heart of Green River Ordinance is Josh Jenkins, the band's lead singer, whose individual success as a Nashville-based songwriter has been meteoric. During his tenure with Green River Ordinance, Josh has seen multiple records top the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and numerous song placements in TV and film. His songwriting prowess has been recognized by leading artists, with songs recorded by the likes of Dustin Lynch, Walker Hayes, Jordan Davis, Randy Houser, and more. A highlight of Josh's career was co-writing the viral, RIAA certified 6x Platinum hit “Fancy Like” by Walker Hayes, which dominated the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and reached the Top 5 on the Hot 100. This song's ubiquitous presence, partly due to its association with a national Applebee’s campaign and a popular TikTok dance, cemented Josh's status in the music industry. Furthermore, his collaboration on the 2022 CMA Song of the Year “Buy Dirt,” performed by Jordan Davis featuring Luke Bryan, has been a critical and commercial triumph. These achievements have rightly earned Josh the accolade of the 2022 SESAC Songwriter of the Year and a place at the pinnacle of Billboard's Hot Country Songwriters list.

As Green River Ordinance embarks on this new chapter, their legacy as a band that has consistently pushed the boundaries of folk and country music while maintaining an undeniable rock edge continues to grow. With "For Old Time's Sake," they are not just revisiting their roots, but also exploring new territories, promising their fans an experience that is both nostalgic and refreshingly innovative.
